Regional office of a multinational corporation

An international corporation may establish a regional office in Thailand to engage in limited non-revenue-earning activities is restricted to:

  • Contacting, coordinating, and supervising
  • Providing services to affiliated branches or subsidiary companies by way of consultancy, advisory and management services; training and personnel development; financial management; marketing control and sales promotion(although not actual sales); and product research and development

All expenditures incurred by the regional office must be borne by the head office of the international corporation. An Alien Business Permit is necessary for running a regional office and the minimum capital requirements in respect to branches also apply to regional offices.
