Representative Office

A foreign company, a company which is not registered under Thai laws and/or not more than 50% of shares capital owned by a Thai National, may establish and operate a Representative Office in Thailand. The Representative office has a purpose to provide its activities remain limited to non- trading producing activities. These activities are restricted and limited to operations non-revenue-earning activities in Thailand as listed below.

  • Searching for local sources of goods or services for its head office.
  • Inspecting and controlling the quality and quantity of goods procured by its head office.
  • Providing advice in various fields related to products directly sold by its head office to local distributors or consumers.
  • Disseminating information about new products and services of its head office.
  • Reporting to its head office on local business developments and activities.

 

The minimum capital contributions in respect to branches also apply to representative offices.
